Autumn Colors - FS Rd 566

We noticed the colors were going fast this week going and coming from work at Mesa Verde. We had to go for it soon or miss the display. We took Forest Service road 566 up into the La Plata mountains from Echo Basin Road. This is an area we want to venture for the early birds coming through to the 6th Annual Ouray FSJ Invasion. We got up a little over 10,000 feet and saw plenty of colors. The aspens will probably be done shedding in a few days. The most spectacular view of the aspens was while coming back down the loop. A beautiful day for a nice ride to the mountains. Enjoy!
